Title: Angular momenta of galaxies to probe primordial universe

Speaker: Hao-Ran Yu, Department of Astronomy, Xiamen University

Host: Mouyuan Sun

Time: 14:30-16:30, Thursday, Sept. 17

Location: Physics Building 552

Abstract:

I will discuss the origin, numerical simulation and observation of the angular momenta of galaxies, and how they can constrain the initial properties of the Universe.

Bio:

In 2005-2014, Dr. Hao-Ran Yu got Bachelor and Ph.D. in Astrophysics (Beijing Normal University). Then he was a joint postdoc fellow in Kavli Institute for Astronomy and Astrophysics (Peking University), Canadian Institute for Theoretical Astrophysics (University of Toronto) and Tsung-Dao Lee Institute (Shanghai Jiao Tong University). From 2019, he joined Department of Astronomy, Xiamen University as an Associate Professor.
