Abstract: Thanks to the performance of the state-of-the-art radio telescopes, increasing detections of molecular species in various ISM conditions improves our knowledge of the Universe. Where do we come from? Are we alone in the Universe? How are the formation and destruction processes of these interstellar molecules? What can these detections tell us about the star and planet formation? What are the link between the complex organics in the ISM and the seed of our lives? These fundamental questions are still unclear. In this seminar, I will start by presenting several multi-wavelength line imaging survey projects I led, covering all the evolutionary stages of high-mass and low-mass star-forming regions.  Using IRAM-30m, NOEMA, JVLA, and ALMA, we unveiled key chemical processes, such as Sulfur grain reservoir, deuterium fractionation, and pc-scale CO depletion in the initial conditions and feedback of star-forming environment. Later, I will also introduce some of my on-going observation projects and projects in plan. These projects aim at (1) understanding the complex organics, Phosphorus bearing species, and prebiotic species from infrared dark clouds, to protoplanetary disks, and photon-dominated or photo-dissociation regions in the next ALMA Cycle, and (2) understanding how universal are the building blocks of life in the extragalactic system and planetary system for the next decade. These observations are designed to understand the missing link from the star-forming region to the planetary system.
