Abstract: Accretion is one of the most fundamental processes for understanding a variety of active phenomena in black holes. A brief overview of the observational properties in black holes and physical understanding will be introduced. The two-phase accretion flows, i.e. an accretion disk sandwiched in corona, will be described in detail. By studying the physical processes in these accretion flows, in particular, the mass and energy exchange between the disk and the corona, we find they are a promising scenario to reveal the nature of spectra and transition in black holes.
