Abstract: Galaxy formation is one of the major challenges in astrophysics. Supernovae (SNe) feedback plays a critical role in galaxy formation, but how it works remains unclear. SNe drive turbulence in the interstellar medium, regulate star formation, and launch galactic outflows. In this talk, I will first introduce our high-resolution, small-box (kilo-parsec) numerical simulations on how SNe drive outflows from a multiphase interstellar medium, and discuss the amount of mass/energy/metals that are being carried in the outflows. Next, I will talk about how we use small-box results as a sub-grid model in galaxy-scale simulations, and study how the SNe-driven outflows evolve on large scales. I will discuss how the outflows regulate the circum-galactic medium, and the observational implications on X-ray emissions.
