Abstract:
The secular evolution of hierarchical triple systems plays an important role in many astrophysical enviroments,from the planet-moon systems to the massive black hole binaries at the center of galaxies. If the mutual inclination angle between the inner and outer orbits is sufficiently high,there exists large amplitude oscillations in the orbital eccentricity and inclination of the inner binaries, which is so called Lidov-Kozai oscillation.
In this talk, I will discuss our recent works on the secular evolution of the hierarchical triple systems with black holes.
Bio:
中国科学技术大学物理学院天文学系教授,博士生导师。1999年中国科学技术大学天体物理中心博士毕业并留校任教。2005年晋升为教授,曾任天文学系执行主任。2017年获国家杰出青年科学基金项目资助。主要从事黑洞天体物理领域的教学和科研工作。曾应邀访问美国哈佛大学、康奈尔大学、加州大学欧文分校、香港大学物理系,并开展合作研究。目前担任中国天文学会常务理事。
