Abstract:
The black hole X-ray binary MAXI J1820+070 experienced an extremely bright outburst in 2018, during which it exhibited classic spectral state transitions. To study this outburst, extensive and well-coordinated multi-wavelength observations were carried out using both ground-based and space-based telescopes, covering the full-range from radio to gamma rays. These efforts accumulated rich and comprehensive data across different spectral states, providing an unprecedented opportunity to deeply explore the observational characteristics, evolutionary patterns, and underlying physical processes of black hole accretion flow and jet. This report presents the observational results across multiple wavelengths, outlines the progress made in addressing key questions in the filed of black hole accretion and ejection, and highlights the new challenges and open issues that have emerged.
